Michael Bretholz

Michael, a recipient of Thornlea Secondary School's Junior Letter for Athletics, placed 18th in the 1997 biology competition and tied for sixth in 1998. Michael, 18, is now in Fukuoka, Japan, studying Japanese language, culture, and history on a Tsuzuki International Scholarship. Next year he plans to pursue a double major in biology and commerce and a minor in Japanese language at the U of T, while living at University College's Whitney Hall. He will be studying as a National Scholar, the University's highest admissions award for undergraduate students. Michael enjoys listening to music, writing, playing rugby, camping, and creating elaborate Etch-A-Sketch art.
