Mini Bio: 
A memorable moment for Laura was “stuffing thirty-five very naked and very large turkeys” for Vincent Massey Secondary School’s Christmas party for six hundred underprivileged children. The Windsor, Ontario, native was a captain of her school’s Reach for the Top trivia team (which placed ninth in Ontario) and is a Canadian Merit Scholar for Southwestern Ontario. A memorable moment from life at U of T (so far!) was attending the Gairdner Awards gala with other National Biology Competition scholarship winners (and two Nobel laureates!) and being introduced by the master of ceremony as the Nobel Prize winners of tomorrow. When not volunteering at Mount Sinai Hospital, Laura, is taking first-year courses in biology, chemistry, calculus, physics, and psychology, and plans to specialize in laboratory medicine and pathobiology. Laura , 17, enjoys listening to music, reading Hemingway and T. S. Eliot, and playing the occasional game of pool.
