Ridley College
Mini Bio:
Nico, a graduate of Ridley College (St. Catherines, Ontario), is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and a member of the Canadian Army Reserves, Queen's Own Rifles Regiment. A memorable moment from high school was sequencing the CYAP26 gene for the University of Washington and also becoming a gene researcher for a week at the Centre Hospitalier de Recherche Genetique in Quebec City (part of the Youth in Science Initiative). Although unsure of his ultimate career ambitions, Nico knows that he wants to do something that will make a difference to society, helping others. He chose to attend U of T because of its scholarly reputation and outstanding faculty, and also because he felt U of T best matched his learning style. Nico, 17, is currently taking courses molecular biology, genetics, chemistry, calculus, physics, French, Korean, and socio-cultural anthropology. His hobbies include Tae kwon do, playing the saxophone, and repairing ailing computers.
