Mini Bio: 
Shiying, 18, obtaining the highest score on the 2003 competition exam in her school, and Thornhill S.S. (Thornhill, Ont.) placed first overall. For having the highest average of all students in the York Region District School Board in 2003 Shying received the Chapman Award and was interviewed by the Toronto Star. Shiying's advice to high school students: "Don't see school as a burden but as something to enrich your life. Don't be discouraged by failures, because, according to Thomas Edison 'Every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward'." One of Shiying's first-year courses at U of T is a small group seminar course on Renaissance and Baroque Rome. At the end of first year Shiyung plans to register in U of T's Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology specialist program.
